Chicago Fire put in a great performance to defeat the Portland Timbers. This was a major game that was going to determine who would be at the top of the play off standings. As it so happened, the Fire came out of the blocks with all guns blazing and just ended up having too much for the Timbers. With things heating up in the MLS this season, all wins are vital, and one loss can cost a team a place in the playoffs, hoping to make it to the finals. This past week the Columbus Crew had a great week, picking up a couple key victories, and giving the team a much needed boost of confidence.
