With things heating up in the MLS this season, all wins are vital, and one loss can cost a team a place in the playoffs, hoping to make it to the finals. This past week the Columbus Crew had a great week, picking up a couple key victories, and giving the team a much needed boost of confidence. After a sub-par past couple weeks in play, the team had come off two ties in their previous two matches. However, this week they took a couple victories, bringing them up in the standings, and getting them closer to the playoff picture, and hopefully a top spot in the standings.

On the opposite end, the Chicago Fire took a tie, and one loss this past week, and although they are pretty high up in the standings, with other teams out performing them, they are going to have to step up their game in the upcoming weeks, especially with a tough schedule ahead of them for the remainder of the month. With so many teams playing well, and the standings being very close, both teams are going to have to step up their game, and start pulling the victories, in order to reach the playoffs.
